Axis, on the other hand, was already immersing himself in the world of security services, writing Post Orders (Standard Operating Procedures) for Burns International Security Services Ltd., a security agency where his mother worked as a Site Supervisor. This early experience not only gave Axis a chance to develop his creativity and work ethic but also exposed him to the complexities of the industry. His mother, though highly skilled and respected in her field, faced challenges with the English language, and Axis stepped in to assist her in completing her written tasks. This responsibility at a young age honed his organizational skills and sparked his interest in security, laying the foundation for the career that would follow.

By the time Axis turned eighteen, his proficiency in security practices had impressed his mother’s employers so much that they awarded him his first security license without hesitation. It wasn’t just a recognition of his knowledge, but a validation of his hard work and dedication. Even though no one explicitly asked Axis about his long-term career interests, the assumption was made that he would continue in security—a field he had already mastered. And so, except for a few years surrounding his education, Axis remained in security-related roles before eventually transitioning into the world of private investigation.

Rapid Growth and Rising through the Ranks

Axis’ willingness to learn, adapt, and face new challenges head-on made him an exceptional private investigator. He wasn’t just good at his job—he excelled at training others too, sharing his knowledge with new recruits. His career took a significant turn when he was introduced to a former officer from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). His primary employer, who had provided the majority of his work, issued an ultimatum: Axis would have to either leave his other clients behind and join their agency exclusively or establish his own agency and remain an independent contractor. It was a difficult decision, but Axis chose loyalty to his clients over the comfort of a guaranteed paycheck. He refused to abandon the people who had placed their trust in him.

This decision, while brave, came with its own challenges. After incorporating his firm and obtaining the necessary licenses, Axis received a call from his former employer. In a display of open hostility, they shredded his contracts in front of him and made it clear that they now viewed him as a competitor. Axis, understandably, felt a wave of fear and uncertainty wash over him. He hadn’t set out to compete with his former employer, nor did he have any experience in sales or business development. Yet, as he left the meeting and walked toward his car, his phone rang. It was a former competitor, now eager for his help. In an instant, Axis realized that his decision to branch out on his own had been the right one, and from that moment on, his firm began its upward trajectory. Today, Axis Vero Incorporated operates across four Canadian provinces, in Europe, and has contracts with government agencies, law firms, corporations, and other investigative firms around the world.
